One of my favorite breakfast places in Columbus easily. The bacon jam and apple fritters are top tier

Breakfast, every time has been great! Food is great, servers are friendly and attentive! This is my go-to for taking out of town guests to breakfast!

So this used to be a Donut Shop that had late night breakfasts back in the day (way back, like late 1980's) and was a favorite spot in the Grandview Hts neighborhood of Columbus. Well, I was back in town for my daughter's travel softball tourney at Beekman Park on campus, and needed a place to meet up for breakfast with a couple of old friends & fraternity brothers. Thus we found DK Diner and I didn't recognize the place until halfway through Brunch! Awesome place and still owned by the same family. Great drink and food menu and don't get me started on the doughnut bar offerings! Fortunately for me, it was a calorie cheat day and I took full advantage! Highly recommend, the wait staff were friendly, quick and efficient! Were happy to explain their offerings and were patient with my stories! And the setting is comfortable and inviting, but eclectic and fun! Enjoy!

What a cool spot! Tucked away in Grandview, if you're looking for a local midwestern delight, you've found it. It feels like going to the good grandma's house, it's feels a little messy, little wacky, and you leave with your pants feeling tighter and your smile always wider. My husband got the Donut Sandy, he says it was the perfect mixture of sweet and savory with loaded home fries to which he said "five belly pats." I got the brisket hash with a side of biscuits. The hash was packed with flavor and I got a side of the garlic mayo sauce- it didn't need the extra sauce, but if you want an additional tasty flavor it's the way to go! Drinks are self served which is nice because they stay busy. Our waitress was so nice and helpful- the service industry has definitely struggled to keep staff, so I hope they treat her well! She was so busy running back and forth, but she knew what she was doing it and managed it well!

DK Diner is a Columbus institution. If you go on a weekend, be prepared to wait, but that's not a bad thing. While you wait, grab a donut (one of the best in Columbus) and a coffee and take the time to explore the area. The breakfast burrito amazing! It has a great mix of flavors, and it's great for a whole meal or to split. I also really enjoy the pancakes. The restaurant itself is a little chaotic, but that's not a negative. It has a great old time diner feel.

It was a nice place, but small in terms of seating capacity. They have inside seating and outdoor. Wait was not bad at all, about 15 minutes. First! All drinks are self served. Seriously. You got inside and thry have a coffee/tea bar and fridge with drinks. Just grab it after you order. Price is very reasonable and the pancakes are sooo good. I tried my husbands blueberry pancake that was made with their house donut batter. Highly recommend! BTW. The pancakes are HUGE!

DK is an old faithful and is the perfect place to come for post night shift breakfast because they have drinks. Came here with a large group (8 people) right when they opened which is tricky since it's a smaller space. They were very accommodating and didn't appear annoyed by our group. I got their new breakfast tacos without the bacon and they were super good! The salsa it comes with makes it 10x better. I also tried the French kiss (gin, grenadine, citrus drink) and it was strong on the citrus/gin front which I loved. Got a sour cream and blueberry donut to go. Their donuts are excellent. I preferred the blueberry one since the flavor is so prominent without being cloyingly sweet.

A solid, no-frills diner. Seems to be a neighborhood favorite. Pretty busy at 9am on a weekday, but there were a few spots at the big central tables, and the bar seats were open. Some covered outdoor seating for overflow, but not in use today. Pretty casual, seems to be seat yourself, and I ordered from the chef. Biscuits and gravy, of course, for me, but there are lots of interesting options. All the usuals plus a few extra. Came up fast. The biscuits are homemade and unusual: square, fluffy, a little crispy on the edges. Perfect for gravy. Which comes in a huge bowl (by which I mean, a perfectly appropriate amount.) Doesn't seem to be homemade and the menu doesn't mention it, so probably canned, but a pretty decent version of that. Comes with meat or eggs (they have another item with all of the above.) I got bacon, and it was perfectly cooked. Drinks are a la carte from a cooler up front. Again, a pretty casual setup. Prices are very affordable. So, fast, good, cheap, and good service. I'd add a star if the gravy were homemade, but it was all pretty good.

Service: When arriving, I was approached by a waitress who allowed me to choose where to sit, I chose the covered patio. I then ordered my food and everything came out exactly as ordered. Only strange thing was that you must get your own drinks and refills, I was surprised by this, but actually enjoyed not having to wait for a refill. 5 stars Food: I ordered Eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toast, and donuts and they were all delicious. The donuts don't look special, but wow they're were good. 5 stars. Ambiance: This location is perfect for brunch with friends, family, and even a first date. Not too loud or to quiet. I wouldn't suggest bringing groups larger than 6 people. 5 stars. Parking: The parking lot here is very small, I can imagine it getting full, but fortunately I drove my BMW suv today instead of my truck, so parking was a breeze. 4 stars. Conclusion: This place is a hidden gem. The food was excellent. I will definitely be back. The only thing that could make this place better would be if it was on a Mexican beach.

I'll start with the food because it was very good. We both enjoyed our breakfasts, and I loved that they let me substitute sliced tomatoes instead of the potatoes my omelette came with. But. It was a small restaurant, with the tables too close together and not a lot of walking space around them. NOT the kind of place you want to be getting up to get your own beverages. But that's what it was...you had to line up to get your own coffee, water, soft drinks. We were there on a Saturday so it was pretty crowded. I just felt like I was in everyone's way every time I wanted a refill. The service (you know, minus the drinks) was the bare minimum. She was busy. She wasn't rude or anything. But if you enjoy *good* service, look elsewhere. They should probably just make it like a Panera style setup and 86 servers all together. That would have taken a few extra bodies off the floor so we could get to that blasted drink station. I would get takeout here, but we won't be dining in again.
